Start of Cruises in Trois-Rivières

Since June 25th 2014, the AML Alizé has been offering 90-minute guided cruises on the St. Lawrence River, with a guide explaining the history of Trois-Rivières as well as detailing the basics of navigation. With three departures per day, the cruise offers an incomparable view of the downtown area, the port, the Laviolette bridge, the Notre-Dame-du-Cap sanctuary and Île Saint-Quentin.

The AML Alizé is a two-story boat with a "sun deck" and a panoramic, multi-purpose interior room with a bar and bistro counter and can board up to 75 passengers. In addition to its three daily cruises, the boat also offers evening group charters and special events in Trois-Rivières.

Croisières AML is very pleased with the positive reception it has received from various tourism stakeholders in the Mauricie and Trois-Rivières regions. "The development of tourism on the St. Lawrence River is important to us. We want to work closely with tourism stakeholders and partners to make Trois-Rivières a must-see destination on the river," said Yan Hamel, President and CEO of Croisières AML.

This new boat in the AML fleet is named Alizé in honor of the wind of the same name. The latin word alis describes the "smooth, polished and delicate character of these measured winds that blow with regularity, neither too much nor too little, more or less languid or vigorous depending on the season."
